Looper Information:
A. Accessing the Looper Route
1. Vehicles must enter the Looper route from Congress Avenue and alley.
2. All vehicles must turn RIGHT onto Cesar Chavez Avenue. Left turns will not be allowed at any point.
3. Cars will not be allowed to cut into the line on Cesar Chavez Avenue. Any vehicle attempting to do so will be directed back to Congress Avenue to rejoin the line.
4. There are 2 lanes, please be prepared to yield to one car lane as traffic merges to exit Congress Avenue alley toward Cesar Chavez Avenue.
5. If you are picking children in Zone 2, you will need to access Lane 2 and continue slowly and turn right to Cesar Chavez Avenue and then right to access our Looper front drive.
6. If you are picking children in Zone 1, you will need to access Lane 1 and wait for your turn to yield and exit Congress Avenue alley and head right towards Cesar Chavez Avenue.
B. Student Pick Up Locations
1. Zone 1 (Congress Ave. Alley) the following students will be waiting:
• 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade and 6th grade
• Carpool for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade only
o Example: If your children are 3rd, 5th and 6th grade, they will be waiting for you in Zone 1 with other siblings.
2. Zone 2 (Front Office Porch) the following students will be waiting:
• Kinder, 1st grade and 2nd grade
• Carpool for any Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade students plus any 3rd through 6th grade.
o Example: If your children are in Kinder, 2nd grade and 3rd grade, they will be waiting for you in Zone 2 with the younger sibling.
o We are keeping all of our younger students in Zone 2 for safety reasons.
Important Reminders:
Please follow posted signs, staff directions, and lane markings.
For everyone’s safety, do not block lanes or stop outside designated areas to pick up your child.
Students 2nd grade through 6th grade are able to walk home if you give them permission. Some students can also qualify for bus transportation based on their home address. Please stop by or call our office to make those changes.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we roll out this new route. These changes are designed to make dismissal safer, smoother, and more efficient for all families plus meeting the right city, street and district guidelines.

We are proud to share that Mrs. Valeria Orozco, Instructional Strategist at Sun Valley Elementary School, has been recognized as one of the 13 Teacher Leader Fellows for the NIET 2027 Teacher Leader Fellows Program.
This national program brings together selected teacher leaders to deepen their expertise in NIET’s systems of improvement and strengthen their ability to support teaching and learning at both the school and district levels.
What an amazing achievement! We are so excited for Mrs. Orozco as she embarks on this powerful journey of learning, leadership, and impact. We can’t wait to see all the incredible things she will accomplish through this outstanding opportunity. 👏
