A Message From the Principal:

ELC will be having our “Costume Parade” this Thursday and Friday. Our Preschool students will be having their “Costume Parade” this Thursday at 10:00 A.M. (Morning Session and First Things First) and 2:00 P.M. (Afternoon Session). Our Kinder class will be having their “Costume Parade” at 9:30 A.M. Please join us for this fun event!

We will be having an emergency drill this week. Please talk to your child about the importance of learning these emergency drills.

All of our ELC staff would like to thank you for supporting us with your child educationally and behaviorally. Because of your support, our “School Wide Data” shows that our students are on track to meeting their yearly benchmarks. Last year at this time, 35% or our students were below benchmark. This year, only 22% of our students are below benchmark. We are using this data to drive our instruction and for grouping our intervention students.

Also for our COSTUME PARADE, we are asking all of our parents NOT TO BUY their child any scary or gory costumes, guns, daggers, and/or any other toy weapons that will not be allowed at school. Children are not to bring any masks to the costume parade, however, they can wear moderate face makeup, nothing extreme.

Parents, ELC teachers will be sending “Read On Your Own Books” from the previous week, so that the parents can reinforce these skills with their child. Some of these skills include high frequency words and CVC (Consonant Vowel Consonant) words.

Lastly, please take time this week to congratulate our teachers and employees who are our “Stars of the Month”. We want to thank Ms. Sandra Magaña, Ms. Martha Salas, Ms. Lupita Altamirano, and Mr. Martin Velasco Jr. for all of their hard work and dedication.

Mr. Munoz
